VMAR Turismo is delighted to announce the signing of a new tourist establishment marketing agreement with the Hotel Hacienda de Abajo, located in the historic centre of the town and port of Tazacorte in the island of La Palma. Due to its historical roots, the hotel will keep its name as Hotel Hacienda de Abajo by vikhotels. After its opening in September last year, it is the first hotel classified as "Emblematic Hotel" of the Canary Islands, a category assigned by the Canarian Government only to those hotels whose construction constitutes an integral part of the Historic Heritage of the Canary Islands. The Hotel Hacienda de Abajo by vikhotels is the result of the careful renovation of an ancient XVII Century sugar plantation. It has been decorated with several art objects from the I and XX Centuries, combining perfectly the elegance with modern comfort. The hotel has 32 luxurious, exclusive and individually decorated rooms. Further to the artistic beauty of the hotel, it is important to mention its strategic location on the west side of the island, in the historic centre of the Villa and port of Tazacorte - recognized as the municipality with the most sunshine hours in Spain. Moreover the unbeatable views from the hotel to the Atlantic Ocean and its surroundings lush gardens plenty of exotic bananas plantations. Another highlight is that it is an -adults-only hotel-, designed for those seeking a quiet and exclusive ambience. It is the second hotel of the chain, after the Hotel Villa VIK in Lanzarote that focuses on this concept. VIK hotel group arises in 2008 after a wide experience in hotel and catering business for more than fifteen years and it is characterized by high-quality 4 and 5 stars hotels unique in their respective categories. Therefore this exclusive and luxury hotel fits perfectly in its expansion policy. With this new arrival, VMAR Turismo extends its product portfolio in the Canary Islands. Its portfolio has now climbed to 11 establishments in Spain and abroad, comprising: VIK Hotels Group, with 10 hotels in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Palma, Costa del Sol, Punta Cana in the Dominican Dominican Republic, Millahue in Chili and José Ignacio in Uruguay as well as the the Apartamentos Palmera Mar on Gran Canaria, all representing a combined total of 2.687 beds in 4 different countries and 8 different destinations.
